Most of the cruise lines in the industry feature production shows that require a behind-the-scenes crew. Most of today's cruise ship feature stat-of-the-art lighting, sound and theatrics that require many specialized production staff. What are some of the entertainment production jobs that are available in the cruise industry?

 

Skills Needed to Get Hired as Production Staff

Most of today's cruise ships feature state-of-the-art lighting, laser, special effects and control systems that require skilled technicians to operate. Technicians must have knowledge of operation and maintenance in a variety of systems. Research each cruise line that you apply to and understand which systems are used onboard.

For example, some of brand names of lighting and sound equipment used are High End Systems, Vari-Lite, ETC, Martin Professional, Flying Pig Systems, Green Hippo, Wybron, Wholehog, Jands, Grand MA, Le Maitre, AMX, Midas, Meyer, Apogee, Soundcraft, Tascam and Electro-Voice.

Many stages are equipped with intricate rigging systems consisting of lifts, revolves, serapid tracks and overhead line sets. Control systems include Acrobat, Stage Technology, Mechatronix.
